Well they're loving and laughing on Broadway,
Where the lights they shine so bright,
But there's nothing in my heart but pain,
Nothing in my heart but pain tonight,
And I can feel the east wind blowing,
Yes I can feel it on my face,
And I've only got one question,
What the hell am I doing in this place?

But nothing will matter,
Until she gets back home
No nothing will matter,
Until she gets back home
No more to roam.

I was born one night in Graceland
While Elvis slept next door.
I know nothing about my mother,
They said she was just another whore,
And I was raised in Alabama
With my exes fixed on the ground,
But I wish to Christ that right now
I was Alabamy bound

But nothing will matter,
Until she gets back home
No nothing will matter,
Until she gets back home
No more to roam.

She'll be sitting on a westbound plane
Out on runway number nine,
I can almost smell the perfume
Of the girl I once called mine.

7. Nothing Will Matter
(McGowan) Someone is depressed here badly? But the way Davy is acting it all through, is quite strong and almost scary. Great playing by Mark also. -- Jore

Mark's bass is incredible on this. I gave him a hug when I first heard it! His piano is fantastic too. I've no idea where the lyrics for this came from - but I always wanted to mention Elvis in a song - so this is it. The 'Runway No. 9' line is a nod to Gordon Lightfoot's 'Early Morning Rain' -- Davy
